Marcia Miller-Serenity Adult Family Care Home

There is a comparatively small sector of individuals who attract and build connections, trust, and relationships with partner organizations, grassroots communities both internal and external to an organization as well as inspire change in the communities that they serve. Marcia Miller is one of those people, driving results—through collaboration, partnerships, and relationships as the Executive Director and Founder of The Residential Home Care Network, a community of elder care providers serving seniors in a residential setting. With a passionate and sincere approach, Marcia’s commitment to excellence in service delivery, benefits not only the residents served but her peers as well.

Marcia is an Orange County Elder Ambassador and in addition, as a subject matter expert in the area of Elder Care, Marcia also owns and operates Serenity Adult Family Care Home, a 5 bed facility in East Orlando.. As your Mentor, you will have access to the many years of experience and connections to facilitate your success.

Prior to retiring and venturing into the world of Elder Care Marcia joined the Community Outreach Team with Clearpoint Credit Counseling in March 2010 as a Foreclosure Prevention Counselor. During this time, Marcia successfully navigated families in crisis through the Loan Modification process as part of the National 995-HOPE hot line.Prior to that Marcia worked 9 years as a Mortgage Loan Officer with the largest Non Profit CDFI in the state of North Carolina,2 years with a Mortgage Broker/Banker in Orlando and 10 years in Real Estate Sales in New York.


Marcia holds a Masters in Nonprofit Management and leadership from Capella University(Summa cum Laude)and a BS in Marketing from MaryMount College. 

Edith Bort- Bort Adult Family Care Home

In 1985 Edith Bort arrived in the United States from Bolivia with the firm intention of fulfilling the "American dream". She lived, worked and married in New York City, and in May 1995 Edith and her husband Alan, formed The Association For the Safety of Disabled Persons,(ASDP) a 501©(3) nonprofit organization to serve people with developmental disabilities. Their success grew and they relocated to Orlando and further expanded their scope of service to also include the elder care community. As a result Edith Bort has become the subject matter expert and is well respected not only by the families that she serves, but her peers and local Guardians as well.

Additionally as a bi-lingual service provider, 25 years later the “BORT” family of homes (there are 3),are synonymous with quality care and exceptional service to all their clients, always striving to provide the best quality of life to these people who suffer from varying disabilities. Many of her original clients are still there and she is "MOM" to them all.

With an education in Finance in Bolivia, Edith continued to work in the finance arena. In March 2018 she formally retired from Florida Hospital, having served 14 years in an administrative capacity. Today, Edith’s huge vocation is to serve as your Mentor. She enjoys empowering others to fulfill their dreams and loves celebrating their personal and professional goals.
